Very few businesses would exist and be as successful as they are without their employees. Employees are key and valuable to organizational success, and business owners are key to employee success. It remains the responsibility of business owners to ensure that a health culture exists within their organizations and between the employees as colleagues. A company culture goes beyond physical aspects to include attitude and treatment of the employees. Instead of allowing your business to develop a culture itself, take an active role in creating a positive culture for your employees.

A positive working environment encourages collaboration and affords respect while expecting quality work every day. Management must trust the experience and decision-making of their employees. In saying that, the return argument is that trust is earned, and employees should constantly deliver results which allow managers to trust decision making. The results that come with successful completion of tasks or projects is immense. That feeling is what create positivity and a culture where collaborative efforts is talking priority in teams. These workers are more likely to feel a connection between each other that goes beyond just working together when necessary to complete a project.

Emphasizing each employees’ strengths is one of a positive culture example, to make the business more productive and efficient.

Leadership style is a major factor in establishing workplace culture. If the manager leads like a dictator without involving the employees in the process, is likely to create a negative working environment. We do not want the employees to feel as if they are not valued or has no input. In fact, we want to create employees that are the Hero’s in organizations.

A great way of ensuring your employees are motivated and happy, is by positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is the act of praising good effort in the workplace. Consistently acknowledging of excellent performance improves workplace morale and it will provide your employees with a sense of worth.

Acknowledge both personal employee milestones such as a birthday, birth of a baby, an employee getting married and any work achievement’s no matter how big or how small.

Let’s get together as businesses, mangers and employees and ensure that a culture of positivity exists, and this will support the tough times that is also normal in all organizations.
